Make a masterpiece! Inspired by "Nathan Gunn: The Art of Opera," the Peoria Riverfront Museum invites young artists, ages 5 - 18+, to create their very own opera poster. First place winners will have their work on exhibit in the Peoria Riverfront Museum, displayed in the Peoria Conservatory!
Contest rules: When you’re done with your masterpiece, you can keep it, or bring it to the front desk to submit it for judging in the Grand Opera Poster Contest!
Your name, age, and contact information must be written on the back in order to be qualified for judging. Be sure to include a few sentences on the back to describe the vision for the poster. You must use the size paper provided and include each of these components: title, composer, signature, enticing image/design, and theater/location.
Judging will be broken up by age. Children aged 5 to 10 years old will grouped together, 11 through 14 years old will be grouped together, Ages 15 through 18 will be grouped together and ages 18+ will be grouped together.
First, second, and third place winners will be chosen from each four groups. Prizes will include opera-themed goodies from the museum gift shop. First place winners will have their posters displayed in the Peoria Conservatory.
