A Conversation with Luke Jerram: MOON Artist

Sun, Oct 20 | 12:30 pm

Giant Screen Theater

Join us for a one-of-a-kind virtual lecture with famed UK artist, Luke Jerram, the creative mind behind the custom-designed Moon artwork featured in our current exhibition, MOON! Luke made the 13ft./4m. Moon, lit from within, using exacting hi-res imagery from NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. It's the only one of its size in the world!

Creating artwork inspired by science for more than 20 years, Jerram has designed 80+ exhibitions in 25 countries in 2019 alone! His amazing Moon artwork has been experienced by 4 million people worldwide.

Learn about Jerram's other public projects - the 300-ft. water slide he installed down his local high street, his talking engagement ring, and the 2000 street pianos he’s installed across around the world for the people to enjoy. Luke's adventures in art and science will expand your horizons and stretch your imagination!

Curator of Science and Planetarium Director, Renae Kerrigan, will speak about the MOON exhibition before the talk.
